As a child, so very sweet & mild
Little cries always beguiled
Beautiful tiny fingers & toes unveiled
Into my arms I did cradle a long while

A child to bring much bewilderment
Eyes of an angel, full of wonderment
Health forever strong & never sickly
Allurement became, quickly, a talent

Innocence of a brand new soul
One not tarnished & pure as snow
Once obscured part of turning more mature
Sin to be passed @ birth; never will know

My savior of this life
My meaning to push through strife
Watching as to let flourish & survive
I, never vicariously into the lime light

Standing back waiting for that first step
Into my hands I so joyously wept
Precious & precarious steps on their way
Single moments of my child from the beginning days
