On bend’ed knee she insists
Resting her hands on his shoulders
He no longer wants to resist

He genuflects before she
Wanting to express what he believes
What he really does see

She rises him up to stand
Leaning in; a whisper of a kiss
Hushes his lips; before it slips

Broken; again, not to mend
Only time can be it’s friend
It’s her heart she defends

Until the end…..
